About
Jim Burton has been successfully selling Real Estate in St. John's for 37 years. He obtained his "FRI", Fellow of the Real Estate Institute in 1996 from The Real Estate Institute of Canada. He is founder of "Team Burton" in 1998 & is the owner of RE/MAX Infinity Inc., with offices in St. John's & CBS. Infinity Realty is one of Provinces fastest growing Real Estate companies. Jim also owns RE/MAX Destiny, with offices in Cambridge & Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
Jim is founder & President of “Black Dog Developments, LP.” a developer of Jonathan Park, a 160 lot residential subdivision in Paradise, NL. He is also founder & President of “Burton Builders Inc.” a new home construction company in Newfoundland & Labrador.
Jim holds an Airline Transport Pilots License (47 years flying) with 16,000 flight hours and during the summer you'll probably find him flying an amphibious Cessna Caravan in Labrador. He's the past owner / operator of Igloo Lake Lodge & Flowers River Lodge, two premier fly fishing destinations in remote Labrador.
Jim is the (2023-2024) President of the Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest. In November 2021, Jim was appointed to the Advisory Council for the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador, he's also Vice-Chair of the Salvation Army Newfoundland & Labrador Advisory Board. Jim is also a Director & Co-Founder of Aviation History Newfoundland & Labrador Inc. In February 2021, Jim was presented the 2020 “Community Care Award” from RE/MAX, LLC in Denver, CO. In January 2020, Her Honour The Honourable Judy May Foote, presented Jim with the "Order of Newfoundland and Labrador." The Order of Newfoundland and Labrador is the highest honour of the province. Jim is past Chair Liberal Party of Canada PTB NL (2016 - 2021) & past Chair of the Board of Director's of Hope Air (2011-2018). In November 2018, The Senate of Canada presented Jim with the 150th Anniversary Medal which celebrates the achievements of Canadians who have made significant contributions to their community and commemorates the 150th anniversary of the first sitting of the Senate of Canada on November 06, 1867. In 2018, the Real Estate Institute of Canada presented Jim the "National Community Services Award" & in 2017 the Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest bestowed Jim the True Rotarian Award. In 2016, Jim was presented the CLB Governor & Commandants Medallion in recognition of achievements of excellence in support of the C.L.B. and its programs. In 2015, Jim was bestowed the 2015 Humanitarian Award from the Canadian Red Cross – Newfoundland and Labrador.
